TOP 5 MOMENTS FROM DEEP BREATH

Like I’ve already mentioned in a previous post, the new episode of Doctor Who, Starring Peter Capaldi, is EPIC.

Words cannot describe it.

So I thought I’d count down my top 5 moments from this first episode. It took me ages to make this post, because I kept on changing my mind! Enjoy!

5. The Opening Scene

Super memorable first scene, a perfect blend of hectic humour, reintroductions to characters and an unfamiliar Doctor- confusing but amusing! I found it hard not to think ‘How did I go 8 months without this!?’ and it was impossible not to grin. I thought it was a really great scene to ease us all back into the show.

4. Paradise?

Throughout the episode the Half Faced man references ‘The Promised Land’, I didn’t really think a lot of, until in the denouncement of the episode was see the Half Faced man arrive in a garden (?). Here were are introduced to Missy, a woman I could easily mistake for a really, really extreme fangirl, with a very unhealthy obsession with the Doctor. Missy then informs the Half Faced man that he is in Heaven, and that is when the end credits star rolling. This meeting with Missy in ‘Heaven’ was confusing, and gave me loads of questions I want answered. All these unanswered questions sends my mind into overdrive and I will be sure to watch again next week!

3. The Phone Call

I thought it was such a nice touch to add this scene, and have it planned since the Day of the Doctor. Hearing Matt’s voice was great, magical and elicited a large emotional response, as it gave Clara and her Doctor the chance to say goodbye.

I did cry.

2. The Bickering

There were so many good scenes between Clara and the Doctor, but by far the best was when the were sitting in the restaurant, and ended up talking about Clara’s ‘egomania’. It had me in stitches laughing and definitely shows the relationship between Clara and the Doctor is shaping up to be excellent and very entertaining. The combination of clashed and moments of genuine friendship make it really engaging.

Best lines were “Nothing is more important than my egomania!” “You actually said that.”

THE BEST TARDIS TEAM AWARD GOES TOO…. THE TWELFTH DOCTOR AND CLARA! yayyyyy

1. “Too slow, no point in him catching both of us!”

This took me by surprise, because I have grown so used to the Doctor putting his companion’s safety above his own, so to see him abandon Clara to apparently save his own skin, really shocked me. This really does show the ‘darker’ Doctor that we were promised. Teamed with Clara’s uncertainty about whether he was coming back for her gave it an edge that I don’t think we really saw with Matt Smith as the Doctor.

SEASON 5 FOR SANSA STARK

In Season 4, Sansa ditched her husband Tyrion Lynnister, fled King’s Landing with Petyr Baelish (aka Little Finger) and arrived at her Aunt Lysa Arryn’s castle, at The Eyrie. The season finale episode showed Petyr Baelish kissing Sansa Stark and killing her aunt Lysa Arryn.

Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark said that her character’s storyline will diverge in Season 5…

Game of Thrones is so unpredictable and it was a big surprise what is happening to her this season,” Turner told Hit Fix while promoting her new movie Another Me.Turner spoke about the next season in an interview whilst promoting her new movie, Another Me, Game of Thrones is so unpredictable and it was a big surprise what is happening to her this season,”

In the book A Feast For Crows, Sansa and Little Finger continue to work together in the aftermath of Lysa Arryn’s death.

Turner admitted that she didn’t read after George RR Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire novels because of the way the show differed from them.

"I kind-of read the Game of Thrones books as the seasons went on. But now that the storyline and scripts are kind of going away from the books, I decided I’m just going to read the scripts so I don’t get confused and read the books later,” she noted.

Recently Martin teased “lots of bloodshed” and plans to kill off many characters in the new series.

Is he planning to kill off Sansa Stark? We will have to watch when the next season of Game of Thrones premiere’s next year.

PETER CAPALDI IS AMAZING!

So, I had some doubts about Peter Capaldi as the new doctor. But when I watched the episode I was amazed. BEST DOCTOR EVER.

And it shows that everybody likes this new, mature twelfth doctor, as the program pulled in the biggest audience for THE OPENING of Doctor Who series since 2010, with 7.3 MILLION VIEWERS!

Peter Capaldi's full debut as the 12th actor to take the lead role in Doctor Who attracted the long running BBC1 drama’s best ratings for a series opener for four years, with a peak audience of 7.3 million viewers.

The former Thick of It star’s first outing as the Time Lord, in an episode set in a Victorian London menaced by a Tyrannosaurus Rex in the Thames and clockwork robots harvesting human organs for spare parts, had an average of 6.8 million viewers, a 32.5% SHARE of the available TV audience. Viewing hit a five-minute peak of 7.3 million viewers.

This was the best audience for THE OPENING episode of a Doctor Who series since predecessor Matt Smith’s début on Easter Saturday in early April 2010, when an average of 8 million viewers tuned in.

I enjoyed the big change, because even though I love Matt Smith, his later episodes were actually not very scary at all, and in one or two cases, boring. At one or two parts in the new episode I was scared for both the Doctor and his companion!

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY was seen by me at the weekend!
Definitely recommend to anyone, had a great mix of fun and drama, curtsey of Chris Pratt, the COOLEST PERSON EVER. (He even rapped on radio and managed to sound AMAZING)…… and his ALS Ice bucket challenge was the best one I have watched so far.
